A Thunder Egg is like a filled geode that usually have Chalcedony centers but can also have Agate, Jasper, Quartz  or even Opal. Thunder Jasper beads were carved from the outer areas of a Thunder Egg, therefore they have been named Thunder Jasper.

Chalcedony is a translucent microcrystalline type of quartz, the form of Quartz that is compact and formed of microscopic crystals. It occurs in many different forms, including botryoidal, stalactites and stalagmites.
