Horn Beads & Carvings
These natural Horn beads are made from water buffalo horns. Buffalo are not hunted or slaughtered just for their horns. They are farm raised for food or agriculture. The horns are a by-product, leaving nothing to waste.
Since male horns are more dense and smooth, they are preferred. Naturally they are dark in color. To get the golden color they are lightened in a peroxide solution. They are then dyed to get blue, green, red and other colors. They are cut, then hand-ground, sanded into shape and sealed with a lacquer.
Their horns are used to create beautiful carvings, art and beads. They normally come from the Philippines or Africa.
